Destination

San Sebastian is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.

Known as Donostia in Basque, it offers a great quality of life, rich culture and nightlife, famous Gothic and Baroque architecture, phenomenal pintxos (tapas) and the popular surf beach break of La Zurriola

The city is served by International Airports of San Sebastian, Biarritz and Bilbao. Its unique atmosphere is hard to find elsewhere and it becomes perfect when you add the surf experience, definitely the urban concept of surfing holidays in the North of Spain!

The San Sebastian Hostel is the only hostel in the city with a surf spirit everything you need for your surf holidays! There's plenty to do in San Sebastian besides surfing like taking a gastronomy trip, visiting monuments, bars and discos! With so much to do and see it's impossible to get bored. The perfect hostel ideal for Stag and Group surf trips.

The hostel was conceived to offer travelers the best combination between surfing, culture and party. If this is what you're looking  for, then this is the right place in the North of Spain! Very relaxed surf sessions during day and crazy parties during the night, the perfect surf holidays!

Accommodation

San Sebastian Hostel has the best accommodation facilities you'll find in the city.

This hostel is an alternative, green and eco-friendly lodge open to many multicultural relationships, attracting mostly young families, couples, friends looking for culture and water sports, especially focused on surfing, one of the main drivers of tourism in San Sebastian.

The hostel has 44 bedrooms and 196 beds spread in 4 floors and 3,178 m2 of area. Each of the bright dormitories has heating and a bathroom with a shower. Bed linen and towels are provided. The hostel offers laundry services, common fully-equipped kitchen, free parking, sports facility, spacious lounge and public area best for resting and leisure. We have free WI-FI and internet access, definitely this is one of the most affordable options to travel to San Sebastian with the best room prices.

It offers comfortable private bedrooms and dormitories with free Wi-Fi, lockers and balcony. The San Sebastian Hostel has a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, however, there is also a shared kitchen where you can prepare your own meals.

One of the highlights of the hostel is its own terrace with mountain views with picnic tables. The hostel has a small football pitch and free on-site parking and a storage room are also available.

At the San Sebastian Hostel, we are committed to provide quality standards in the Basque Country, welcoming all people under equal conditions, hence we developed a facility that has already received the official accessibility seal. For example, the access to our hostel is paved and leveled to zero, without steps or entrance barriers making the movement throughout the hostel totally accessible too. The hostel also has a lift with practical space and a button panel at mid-height with visual, acoustic and Braille signalling. Our adapted bathrooms are also prepared to receive disabled guests and respiratory problems.

There is a very cool atmosphere at the hostel combined with San Sebastian's culture, party, shopping, history, food, friends and waves. With plenty attractions and things to do, you'll never get bored. After surfing you can start by trying San Sebastian's well known gastronomy. Try starting with pintxos (tapas bars) at one of the local restaurants, and the rest will move like magic, just let it go for the night!

Surf

San Sebastian has two major surf breaks working with different swell and tide conditions.

The most popular surf break is in La Zurriola, a sandy beach break right in San Sebastian's downtown with a very nice atmosphere. The city embraces this urban beach in a perfect way and it has all the facilities that a beach is supposed to have like showers, bars, board rentals and car parking nearby. Here you can surf a quality right-hand wave on the eastern end of the beach, where a WQS contest takes place every year. The more eastern you go, the more demanding it becomes.

Another top surf spot, not as consistent but equally challenging as La Zurriola, is the Ondarreta point break, in San Sebastian's bay - La Concha beach

San Sebastian is an awesome choice surfers with a urban mindset, yet the entire region of the Basque Country has some of the best surf spots in Spain. Surf trips and Surfaris are recommended to places such as Mundaka and Santander in the North of Spain, or Hossegor and Biarritz in France just an hour and half away.

From August to October you can watch many ASP contests held in the region, where all the Surfing Elite comes together! On the Surfari pack we will take you to all those places! Although, Surfing Euskadi is not only about challenging waves and professional surfers. For all those who want to combine surf, culture and party this is the right place!
