Baleal is the best area to learn to surf in Peniche

Baleal Island is an unique place on the Portuguese coast! This small beautiful island is separated from the mainland by a causeway, creating two beautiful beaches and offering different surfing conditions. Just 1 minute walking from the Surf house!

These beaches, due to their location and extent, have the particularity to offer a bit of everything, from bathing areas with life guards, to vast dunes of fine white sand where the waves break with more intensity.

They are considered to be the best  spot to learn surfing in Peniche.

Fully equipped surf camp with jacuzzi, 15 meters from the sea

In our surf camp in Baleal you can choose to stay in a Twin, Double or en-Suite room , just 15 meters from Baleal beach!
The house is cosy, different and perfect for chilling with the background sound of the waves.

It features a very comfortable living room and fully equipped kitchen. We have two terraces, one for yoga practice and the other with a Jacuzzi with sea view.

Every day will start with a big fresh breakfast before going to surf right in front of our door. Some days the surf will be in the afternoon and the yoga classes before breakfast. It all depends on the swell and tides.
The lunches are light and can be packed to take to the beach. The afternoon is for relaxing or for some optional activities.
The jacuzzi is always ready to be used, we recommend during the sunset where you can enjoy an amazing view.
Dinner will be served at 19:30 and you can expect again really nice homemade vegetarian or pescetarian food.

With a weekly programme like this, you will be able to learn or improve your surfing skills with our experienced instructors and take all the benefits of yoga from our amazing and professional teachers.

We keep our groups small, so participants get maximum attention and personal guidance.

Peniche is the most flexible surf city in Portugal

The little fishing town of Peniche it's probably the most renowned surfing area in the country. Originally an island, Peniche became one with the mainland due to the silting up of the shallow channel that divided it from the rest of the country. Today that short and narrow spit of land contains an obscene amount of wave variety that can provide the goods in almost any conditions. Most famous is Supertubos, regarded by many as one of Europe's best beach breaks, but there are plenty of other barrels to pull into around Peniche.

Peniche is a year round destination with swell exposure on the north side of the town and shelter on the south. The town also sits at the dividing point between the cooler and wetter north and the dry, sunny south meaning that summers are long but tempered by cool sea breezes and the winters mild though occasionally stormy.
