Nicaragua is well known for its enormous big lake that generates the perfect atmospheric conditions, causing offshore winds all year long in the west (Pacific) coast. This is why most of the surf spots are concentrated in the narrow stretch of coastline that separates Lake Nicaragua from the Pacific.
On the other hand, the east (Caribbean) coast is less swell consistent and less wind reliable but still good waves can break here on the good days.
It has much less crowd but it’s no worse than its famous neighbor Costa Rica. Definitely worth visiting and surfing!
