South Africa offers great waves all year round but it has its peak between April till August when the big winter swells from the South Indian Ocean hit African shores.
The shoreline predominately faces in a southeast direction and gets waves all year, either from storms tracking eastward out of the South Atlantic Ocean or spinning in the Indian Ocean. Perfect conditions, when offshore winds from west play with the steady swell. The climate is temperate and the Mozambique current keeps water temperatures in the 15 ºC. 3mm or 4mm wetsuit must be used!
